These Terms & Conditions and Legal Statement govern the use of VeteranOwnedBusiness.com, the Veteran Owned Business Directory, America's Veteran Owned Business Marketplace, and related features and services provided through this website.

By accessing or using VeteranOwnedBusiness.com, creating an account, submitting or maintaining a business profile, purchasing a paid listing or sponsorship, or otherwise using the website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Directory Eligibility

VeteranOwnedBusiness.com provides directory and marketplace opportunities primarily for businesses owned and operated by past and present members of the United States Armed Forces and other eligible military-connected business owners, including veterans, active duty military members, reservists, service-disabled veterans, and military spouses.

Eligible businesses may include Veteran Owned Businesses (VOB), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), and other qualifying businesses associated with members of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, Space Force and National Guard.

Veteran Owned Business reserves the right to establish, interpret and modify its directory eligibility standards and to request additional information when reasonably necessary to determine whether a business qualifies for inclusion.

Accuracy and Truthful Representation

Businesses and individuals submitting information to VeteranOwnedBusiness.com are responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is truthful, accurate and not misleading. This includes business ownership information, military affiliation, contact information, descriptions, categories, certifications, logos, images, website addresses and other profile information.

There is no guarantee of inclusion in the Veteran Owned Business Directory, even when a business appears to meet the applicable eligibility requirements.

Veteran Owned Business reserves the right to review, edit, reject, suspend or remove a profile at any time when we reasonably believe that information is inaccurate, misleading, fraudulent, inappropriate, outdated, violates these Terms, or does not meet directory standards or eligibility requirements.

Submissions by Marketing, SEO and Other Representatives

Any individual, marketing company, search engine optimization company, web developer, agency or other third party submitting or modifying information on behalf of a business will be considered a representative of that business for purposes of the submission.

Businesses are responsible for information submitted on their behalf. Third-party representatives may not falsely claim veteran ownership, military affiliation, certification, authorization or eligibility in order to obtain a listing, link, profile or other benefit from VeteranOwnedBusiness.com.

Bulk directory submissions, automated submissions, deceptive link-building practices and submissions made without appropriate authorization may be rejected or removed.

Free and Paid Business Profiles

VeteranOwnedBusiness.com may offer free business profiles, paid enhanced profiles, logo listings, sponsorships and other promotional or membership options. Features, pricing, eligibility requirements and benefits may change over time.

The features and pricing displayed at the time a business signs up or renews will generally determine the applicable listing benefits for that listing period.

Veteran Owned Business reserves the right to add, remove, modify or reorganize listing features, provided that we make reasonable efforts to continue providing the general level of service associated with an active paid listing.

Paid Listing Terms and Renewals

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, paid business profiles, sponsorships and similar paid listing options generally run for a period of one year from the applicable signup, payment or renewal date.

Paid listings on VeteranOwnedBusiness.com do not ordinarily renew automatically. We generally contact businesses before or around the end of their paid listing period with information and an opportunity to renew.

A business is not required to renew a paid listing. If a paid listing is not renewed, paid features may expire, be removed or revert to the features available with another eligible listing level, when applicable.

If Veteran Owned Business offers an automatically renewing product or service in the future, the automatic renewal terms will be disclosed in connection with that product or service.

Cancellations and Refunds

We want businesses participating in VeteranOwnedBusiness.com to be satisfied with their experience. Businesses may contact Veteran Owned Business to request cancellation of a paid listing or service.

When a cancellation is requested shortly after signup or payment, Veteran Owned Business may provide a full refund when appropriate. For cancellations requested later during an annual paid listing period, Veteran Owned Business may provide a prorated refund based on the unused portion of the paid term.

Refund requests are reviewed individually. The amount and availability of any refund may take into account the timing of the request, services already provided, promotional benefits already received, payment processing issues and other relevant circumstances.

Business Profile Removal

Business owners may request removal of their profile through their myVOB account when that option is available or by contacting Veteran Owned Business directly.

We make reasonable efforts to process legitimate profile removal requests as soon as practicable. Certain information may remain temporarily in backups, caches, search engine indexes or other systems outside of our immediate control after a profile has been removed from the live directory.

Business-Submitted Content

Businesses may submit information and materials including business names, descriptions, logos, trademarks, photographs, images, contact information, website links, promotional offers and other content for use in their profiles.

Businesses retain whatever ownership rights they otherwise have in their original submitted content. By submitting content to Veteran Owned Business, the submitting party represents that it has the right and authority to provide that content and grants Veteran Owned Business a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, resize, format, display, distribute and otherwise use the submitted content as reasonably necessary to operate, display, market and promote the Veteran Owned Business directory, marketplace, website and associated services.

This permission continues while the content or business profile is being used by Veteran Owned Business and for reasonable archival, backup, historical and administrative purposes afterward.

Directory Categories, Placement and Website Changes

Veteran Owned Business reserves the right to create, rename, merge, divide, reorganize or remove directory categories and subcategories and to change profile classifications, URLs, layouts, designs, navigation, search functionality, features and site structure.

We may also edit the formatting or placement of business information when reasonably necessary to improve consistency, usability, search functionality, accuracy or operation of the directory.

No particular search position, category position, search engine ranking, website traffic level, number of leads, number of profile views or business result is guaranteed by inclusion in VeteranOwnedBusiness.com or by purchasing a paid listing.

Acceptable Use of the Website

Users may not use VeteranOwnedBusiness.com to engage in fraud, impersonation, unauthorized access, malicious activity, spam, harassment, interference with website operation, attempts to bypass security controls, or other unlawful or abusive activity.

Users may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, administrative systems, servers, databases or other non-public areas of VeteranOwnedBusiness.com.

Site Visitors and Directory Information

Our goal at Veteran Owned Business is to provide consumers, government agencies, prime contractors, subcontractors, corporate purchasing departments, nonprofits, organizations and supporters with an easy way to discover and support veteran owned and other eligible military-connected businesses.

There is no charge for visitors to use the public VeteranOwnedBusiness.com directory, search tools and other free public resources unless a particular service is expressly identified as requiring payment.

Visitors are responsible for evaluating businesses before entering into purchases, contracts, employment arrangements, partnerships or other transactions.

Independent Businesses and Transactions

Businesses listed on VeteranOwnedBusiness.com are independently owned and operated unless expressly stated otherwise. Their inclusion in the directory does not create an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, franchise or other similar relationship between the listed business and Veteran Owned Business.

Veteran Owned Business is not a party to transactions between visitors and listed businesses and is not responsible for the products, services, pricing, warranties, representations, performance, conduct or business practices of independently owned businesses listed in the directory.

External Websites and Third-Party Links

Veteran Owned Business does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, privacy practices, content, products, services or policies. Visiting an external website is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Veteran Owned Business Intellectual Property

Except for business-submitted content and third-party materials, VeteranOwnedBusiness.com and its original website content, directory organization, database organization, graphics, branding, logos, designs, layouts, software, text and other proprietary materials are owned by or licensed to Veteran Owned Business and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Nothing in these Terms grants permission to copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license or commercially exploit Veteran Owned Business proprietary content or substantial portions of the directory except as expressly authorized by Veteran Owned Business or permitted by applicable law.

Website Availability and Disclaimer

Veteran Owned Business works to maintain the availability, functionality and security of VeteranOwnedBusiness.com, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The website and directory are provided on an "as available" basis. Website features may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, technical problems, security incidents, third-party service interruptions or circumstances outside of our reasonable control.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, a submitting party agrees to be responsible for claims, losses or reasonable expenses arising from its materially false representations, unlawful content, infringement of third-party rights, or violation of these Terms.

Privacy

Use of VeteranOwnedBusiness.com may involve the collection and processing of account, business and contact information. Information submitted to a public business profile may be displayed publicly as part of the Veteran Owned Business directory and marketplace.

Users should not submit confidential, sensitive or private information in fields intended for public display.
